City and water are intensely connected everywhere in the world. Engineers, architects, planners and landscape architects will have to work together in order to create new cities on the water as well as new forms of water in the city. What new opportunities will the rising waters offer? Designers, architects and planners have to work together to identify new challenges and opportunities. How does the new boundary between water and city take shape? What are the potentials of water as an urban fabric?

Students and professors will address these questions of the new design challenge, as well as how design education and architecture schools can respond to and address these new challenges. They will also address the value of international collaboration.

Organized by the Center for Architecture, ARCAM, the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture, and the AIA New York Chapter Design for Risk Committee.
