To kick off our special programme on Saturday at 16:00, our 2022 Artist in Residence Selçuk Balamir will present the Winter School publication After Shell. In this calendar, students show how Shell's global infrastructure can be repurposed. In series of colourful images we travel around the world and through time. We see how a history of disaster is transformed into a voluminous wall calendar that covers the four coming decades of a just transition, from the 2020s to the 2050s.

This year, the Kromhout lecture will be held by alumnus, landscape architect and nature optimist Thijs de Zeeuw in the Hoge Zaal at the Academy of Architecture. After the lecture, Thijs de Zeeuw, Dirk Sijmons, Charlotte van der Woude and Rachel Borovská will discuss the concept of nature optimism from a human perspective.
