Ruurd Gietema
Ruurd Gietema has a professional degree in urban planning and studied architecture and urban planning at the TU Delft where he graduated in 2002. Before joining KCAP he worked for UN Studio, West 8 and MVRDV. During this time he was also part of Bindels/Gietema/Hartzema/Klok, a collaboration exploring urban planning potentials and was awarded the Maaskant Prize for Young Architects in 2000. In 1996 he joined KCAP, as a director since 1999 and he became partner in 2002. Ruurd has won several architecture & urban planning competitions. He is a regular member of jury’s and has been lecturing and teaching in various institutions. With KCAP Ruurd is involved in large scale urban planning projects in major cities throughout Europe and Asia.
