Creating Homes for Tomorrow in Amsterdam
Within the 2019/20 educational program, CANactions School travels to 4 metropoles in western, northern and eastern Europe and explores their innovative approaches for creating more livable neighborhoods. Based on the findings, we develop new strategies for locally specific and globally relevant questions, considering spatial, economic, social and political measures.
The workshop in Amsterdam was the start of the CANactions School Creating Homes for Tomorrow program offered an 8-day intensive introduction into the local housing. An international group of participants together with the multidisciplinary team of mentors and experts designed solutions and strategies for future housing trajectories in the city of Amsterdam: Nieuw West.
The workshop took place from 19 to 26 of October and was hosted by the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture. Twenty participants with different backgrounds and fields and from different countries such as Ukraine, Portugal, Estonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania etc. took part in the workshop.
