The Wandering Maker
“By bringing together many personal histories, The Wandering Maker creates a fascinating portrait in 21 chapters of the range of architectural possibilities that walking has provided him. Creating space is, by definition, a ‘slow’ activity.”
On Thursday 6 June at 19:30, Machiel Spaan will present The Wandering Maker in the new workshop of the Amsterdam of the Arts (AHK) and the Academy of Architecture at the Marineterrein in Amsterdam. During this evening, three guests will reflect on the book. Glasses will also be raised in a toast!
Machiel Spaan is an architect, co-founder of the Amsterdam architectural firm M3H Architecten and has worked as a lecturer at various architecture study programmes in the Netherlands and abroad for more than 20 years. He is the former head of Architecture at the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture. In The Wandering Maker, he reflects on his trips, observations, educational projects and built work.
The Wandering Maker can be bought (via the internet) from bookstores. It is for sale in Amsterdam from, among other places, the publisher Architectura & Natura.
Admission is free. Please register via avb-webredactie@ahk.nl.
