The celebration of The Bauhaus Centenary is coming to an end when Micha Gross, co-founder of the Bauhaus Center Tel Aviv takes the 1·Lectures stage on 28 November 2019.

Gross will present the architectural development of Tel Aviv and its White City, referring to a collection of over 4.000 buildings in the Bauhaus style from the 1930s by German Jewish architects who immigrated to Mandatory Palastine after the rise of the Nazis. He will elaborate on the historical circumstances that led to the construction of the ‘Bauhaus City’. Before going into detail on the rather poor state of the buildings that makes preservation and renewal crucial, he will discuss White City’s features and its urban plan. Tel Aviv’s unique way of dealing with this subject makes the final part of the lecture.
