Re-act / re-light at the Aldo van Eyck Pavilion

Saturday 08 September 2018, 20:30 - 22:30 hrs.
Kröller Müller Museum

The Academy of Architecture and the Academy of Theatre and dance present six personal light installations September 8th at the Aldo van Eyck Pavilion.

How can light question space and deepen our relation with space?

This is the main question in the assignment students worked on in a collaboration of two departments of the Amsterdam University of the Arts. In 2017 students of the Academy of Architecture worked together with students Scenography at the Academy of Theatre and Dance and explored the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion in Barcelona. This year students do the same at the Aldo van Eyck Pavilion at the Kröller-Müller Museum. They explore the building in its construction, materialization, light, language, time and context. This results in six personal light installations which re-light the various qualities of light and re-act upon the Spatial experience of the Aldo van Eyck Pavilion.

This presentation would originally take place in June, but that could not continue due to circumstances. The new date for the presentation is Saturday 8 September at 20h30 in the Aldo van Eyck Pavilion.

Entrance tickets are for sale through Kröller-Müller Museum. Free admission is only possible through the guest list of the Academy of Architecture. A personal invitation is required for this.
