Liesbeth Jansen and Thijs Meijer of the project office Marineterrein Amsterdam will talk about the transformation of the Marineterrein. The redevelopment of the Marineterrein is not taking place in the conventional way. Used by the Dutch Royal Navy for 360 years, this 14 hectare site in the centre of Amsterdam is now gradually being given back to the city.

The 1·Lectures series is organized by the Amsterdam Centre for Architecture and the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture. Renowned designers, from home and abroad, will discuss current issues in the field of architecture, urbanism and landscape design. The 1·Lectures take place at the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture, Waterlooplein 213 in Amsterdam. They are held on a biweekly basis on Thursday evenings, starting at 20:00.

Advance tickets costing €5 are available online. In addition, tickets can be purchased at the door from 19:30 on the evening of the lecture itself (if available). Academy students are entitled to free admission on presentation of their student ID card. All lectures are held in English.
