1·Lectures with WeBuildHomes: One Catalog

Thursday 03 March 2016, 20:00 - 21:30 hrs.
Academy of Architecture
Waterlooplein 211-213
1011 PG Amsterdam

Tjeerd Haccou, co-founder of WeBuildHomes, believes that everyone ought to be able to build his or her own sustainable dream home for an affordable price. To this end, WeBuildHomes put together a catalog of materials. Various architects were then invited to design dwellings using the catalog. This has resulted in a library full of unique dwellings from which private individuals can choose their dream home.

Two of the architects who have designed for the catalog are Auguste van Oppen (BETA office for architecture and the city) and Metin van Zijl (Studioninedots). In the third 1·Lectures, together with Tjeerd Haccou, they discuss the thinking behind WeBuildHomes, the designs, their inspiration and experiences.
