On November 17th, Marnix van der Meer and Bart Kellerhuis return to the origin of their shared roots at the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture. Together with Steven Nobel, they lead Zecc Architects. During this 1·Lectures they share the agency's mission and tell how their work has been shaped by their shared training at the Academy.

Zecc describes their mission as 'Grounded Architecture', working from three core principles. A design should be functional, sustainable and simultaneously engage all your senses. Zecc makes it their expertise to bring together these sometimes difficult to combine principles.

Marnix van der Meer (1972) studied architecture at the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture. Between 1996-2002 he worked at Meyer & Van Schooten Architects. In 2003 he and Rolf Bruggink started Zecc Architects in Utrecht. From 2012 he is leading Zecc Architects together with his partners Bart Kellerhuis and Steven Nobel.

Steven Nobel (1981) architecture at the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture. He works at Zecc Architects since 2003 and has contributed to various projects including the Brick House Groenekan & villa in Soest.

Bart Kellerhuis (1978) studied Architectural Engineering at the Arnhem University of Applied Science and architecture at the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture. Between 2004-2007 he worked at Rappange & Partners Architects in Amsterdam, and since 2008 at Zecc Architects.

Thursday, November 17th, starting at 20h00, at the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture, Waterlooplein 213 in Amsterdam. Tickets at €5 are available in the webshop of the Amsterdam Centre for Architecture. Academy students get free admission with their student card.
