Christophe Girot (Paris, 1957) is Professor of Landscape Architecture at the school of architecture of the ETH in Zurich, Switzerland. His research and education focuses especially on large scale landscape design, for which he develops tools and techniques with the ground-breaking Landscape Visualising and Modeling Laboratory (LVML).

Girot is also Principal Investigator at the Future Cities Laboratory in Singapore and he maintains his own agency, Atelier Girot, which carries out projects in Europe and Asia. Girot's work was exhibited in 2014 at the Venice Architecture Biennial and the IABR in Rotterdam.

In his contribution to the 1·Lectures series, Christophe Girot presents the newest proceedings of his research with the LVML, as well as recent work by Atelier Girot.

Thursday 21 May 2015, 8 pm. Waterlooplein 213, Amsterdam. Tickets cost €5 and can be purchased via arcam.nl or at the door from 7.30 pm. A limited number of Academy students have free admission on presentation of their student card. The lectures are in English.

1·Lectures is a new series of architecture lectures organised by the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture together with Arcam. It is intended for architecture students and all others interested. Experts, icons, newcomers and outsiders are invited to address topics related to architecture, urban and landscape design that are linked to current issues.
