Architect Jurriaan van Stigt (LEVS architecten) will talk about Stichting Dogon Onderwijs (SDO) and the architectural designs of LEVS for this foundation. SDO was originally founded by his parents, architect Joop van Stigt and his wife Gonny.

Around 35 years ago they developed a passion for Mali, its culture and its people. When the demand for schools and water facilities kept increasing SDO was founded in 1995 to continue the work. Since 2009 Jurriaan van Stigt has been chairman of the foundation. He changed the organisation into a full life circle development strategy while LEVS supports the foundation with the overall architectural and urban designs.

Tickets are available in advance during regular opening hours at Arcam and on the night of the lecture from 7.30 PM at the door of the Academy of Architecture. Academy students have free admission on presentation of their student card. The 1·Lectures program is in English.
