Mesopotamian marshes: the spacial practice of water abundance and scarcity
by Ameneh Solati

The Mesopotamian Marshes offered autonomy for its indigenous people and refuge to the oppressed. Each power ruling the region acted against the marshes and their population of (non)human beings. Ameneh Solati's rereading of the wetlands in the south of Iraq weaves environmental and ethnic injustices as an alternative framework to address this ever-changing ecosystem.

This C4/C6 lecture is curated by DAR cultural agency / Zineb Seghrouchni
